Two 2.4-litre saloons for £20K. unprecedented supermarket-style offer.Other deals available elsewhere. An online car broker is offering an unprecedented 'buy one car, get one free' offer.b roadspeed.com is advertising "Two new 2.4 Auto saloons for £20K". Parker's has learnt that these are Dodge Avenger 2.4-litre SXT Auto models - worth £18,200 each.
The offer has been launched in response to months of falling car sales. Last month sales fell by more than 20 per cent, forcing dealers to slash prices. Although some prices have fallen by many thousands of pounds, this is the first time a supermarket-style 'buy one car, get one free' has been seen.
The Avenger 2.4 SXT is well equipped with climate control, alloy wheels, sat nav and leather seats. The Avenger is a striking alternative to the likes of the Skoda Superb and Kia Magentis. It is undoubtedly well equipped, but isn't quite as well executed as the Skoda or Kia.
The build quality isn't as good and the petrol engine is thirsty an inefficient - that means 31mpg and a road tax bill of £300 for 12 months. It's a saloon, too, which isn't as practical (or as popular as a hatchback). And, although, it's effectively only £10,000, it will continue to depreciate quickly.
